But like many childhood traditions, the baking sessions started to fade away as schoolwork piled up and life became busier. That is, until the age of 14 when Amrita’s aunt introduced her to the enchanting world of butter cakes.

Amrita lovingly recalls the heavenly fragrance of butter cake baking in the oven that would fill her aunt’s home. She was captivated by how a handful of simple ingredients could come together to create something so profoundly delicious. She approached her aunt, eager to learn her secret recipe. Her initial attempts were marred by mistakes such as opening the oven door too frequently, which deflated both the cake and her spirits.

Her early trials and errors only fuelled her determination to master the art of baking. She practiced relentlessly until she could proudly declare her aunt’s butter cake as her own masterpiece. It was at this point that Amrita realized baking was not just a casual hobby but a source of joy for her. As she went on to university, her passion for baking continued to grow. Amrita scoured the internet for unique recipes, experimented with ingredients, and tried her hand at crafting olive oil cakes and delightful tea-time treats.
